I’ve come a long way
to find a part of me I never knew.
And I came this far with the risk
of losing, too.
And, who’s to say that I’ll ever find
what I’m looking for.
Yet I’ll go on, ‘cause in my heart I know
There must be something more.

Then when I come home,
I’ll never be alone again.
I’ll have myself to talk to,
I’ll be my own friend.

Hey, look at me…
Look at the person I’ve become.
I’m fully me and not a bit like anyone.
I’ve finally found what I’m about, and who I’m supposed to be.
I’m standing tall. I’m feeling strong.
My heart knows now I can’t be wrong.
It feels so right–just being me.

So when I come home,
I’ll never be alone again.
I’ll have myself to lean on.
I’ll be my own friend.
I’ll have my heart to dream on.
I’ll be my own best friend.
